2023 GOES OUT WITH A BANG

The last West Yorkshire Brass concert of the year at St. Andrew’s Church, Undercliffe, raised in excess of £1,000 for church funds. Once again, there was not a vacant seat in the house. A full and varied program was peppered with traditional and well known Christmas items.

What a way to end the year!!!

There’s only one more thing left for me to say . . . . .

CHRISTMASTIME IN ROBERTS PARK

In and earlier news item I reported that West Yorkshire Brass have been invited back to Robert Park, Saltaire, in 2024. And indeed we have. However, the band has also been chosen to present a one hour concert, with a Christmas bias, from the Roberts Park Bandstand at 1pm on Saturday 9th December this year. INTERESTED??? ~ WRAP UP WELL. ~ SEE YOU THERE!!!

BEST 2023 CONCERT TO DATE

Was the WY Brass performance at Filey on 10th September, their best concert of 2023?
In my opinion – YES – BY MILES!
But don’t just take my word for it. The sun came out and so did the public for the last band concert of the year from The Crescent Gardens bandstand.

NOT A SPARE SEAT TO BE HAD ANYWHERE!!!

MUSIC FROM WY BRASS BRIGHTENS THE DAY

It rained right up until forty minutes before our concert at Canal Gardens in Roundhay, Leeds. But despite the numerous grey clouds there were some sunny periods during the rest of the afternoon. The public occupied every seat in the garden with many more having brought their own ‘sit-upons’. And the band received many appreciative comments at the end of the concert.
Despite those sunny periods, it was still a little chilly so band anoraks were the order of the day.
Some of our concerts have started to create a whole new meaning for the term ‘cool music’.
